A revealed (law-giving) religion is one that is considered to have been disclosed by God to Man. This presupposes an intimate relationship between the two. Revelation is that which has been revealed, and is often received in dreams. To reveal something is to make it plain. Dreams will often uncover our hidden truths, which we cannot necessarily deal with in waking life. The meaning of a symbol can often be revealed in dreams and needs to be consciously retained. Such a symbol will often have relevance to what is happening in our daily lives though we may need to follow up with research.
