Dream «Time»

Time — the need for clarity.

Loff’s dream book

Time and time puzzles can be a difficult element in the the interpretation. Since dreams are coming to us as a phantasmagoria, then very few features can be judged as seen in a dream time. It may seem like a dream takes place in real time: twenty minutes of events in REM cycle; other sleep may occur as a series mounted scenes occurring within a few days, weeks, years, or the immeasurable period of time; a dream can be generally beyond the temporary bindings. One way to determine the movement of time in a dream - just imagine the scene situations and try to install them in any chronological changes. Another way - to think in a dream of the numbered items and associate them with temporary accommodation outside of your life. If the clock in your dream shows 5: 15, it may be time, date, or time between the two ages; in the latter case perhaps five and fifteen. Sometimes timing puzzles and surprise upsets, sometimes they are full of deep meaning: you can easily monitor a periodically repeating cyclic structure of life, remember the time when the maturity and self-evident as the transition took. So you can understand many things. Sometimes temporal aspect may influence the emotional impact of sleep; probably dream in real time will have a different emotional overtones, than in fragmented sleep time.

General

In a spiritual sense time has no relevance, being a man made construct. The Realization of Age and Time, being a valid concept, is signified by a clock. The image of Father Time as an old man signifies changes brought about by the passage of time. For time to be significant in a dream there is usually the necessity to measure it in some way, or to use a period of time as a measurement. Usually we are only aware of the passage of time often symbolized by a clock or watch or that a particular time is meaningful in the dream, it is part of the dream scenario. The time in the dream may symbolize a particular period in our life as follows: The daylight hours will thus suggest our conscious waking life. Where several days (or other long periods) appear to have passed we are conscious that some other activity, which is not particularly relevant to us, has been going on in the dream. If we think of our lives as being a day long, the hours of the day will refer to a specific time in our lives. Thus, afternoon is a time of life when we can put our experience to good use; evening shows a more relaxed time; mid-day indicates we are fully conscious and aware of our activities. In the morning the first part of our life or our early experience is being highlighted, whereas night may be a period of depression or secrecy. We may be introspective or simply at rest. Twilight can indicate a period of uncertainty and possible ambivalence insofar as our direction in life is concerned. Watching the clock indicates the necessity to make time work for us. The clock hands or digital numbers in a dream may be indicating those numbers that are important to us. To be early for an appointment in a dream suggests having to wait for something to happen before we can carry on our lives. Being late shows our lack of attention to detail or the feeling that time is running out. Consult the entries for Calendar, Dawn/Day And Night, Evening, Night and Numbers for further information.

Nostradamus’s dream book

This is another one of those words that you must consider with the entire dream in mind. If time is of the essence and you are rushed or late this could be a warning not to be caught late for an important appointment. This could also be a fear dream pointing at the fact that you have a real life appointment and you have a fear of oversleeping, in this case the dream is only mirroring your fear.
