The interpretation of the dream «Searching»

General

The movement towards spirituality often begins from a feeling of searching for something.

Searching in a dream for something we have lost can suggest either that we need information from the past, or that we feel we have lost our identity. Searching also suggests more of a commitment to actually finding than just simply looking. To be searching in a dream is an attempt to find an answer to a problem. If we are searching for someone we may be conscious of our loneliness. If we are searching for something we may be aware of an unfulfilled need. Consult the entries for Find and Lose/Loss/Lost for further clarification.

General

Looking for knowledge, understanding, or insight

Trying to regain something physically, mentally, or emotionally

Searching for something you've lost can mean that in real life you're feeling you've lost—or are afraid to lose—whatever that item represents. For example, searching for your car because you've forgotten where you parked can mean you're feeling you've lost touch with yourself, your self-identity, or your personal integrity (represented by the car).
