Miss Hasse’s Dream Book is a collection of short interpretations known from the Russian-language tradition and attributed to a medium named Hasse; almost nothing reliable is known about her life. The interpretations rest on folk beliefs and usually fit into a few words: whether an image promises joy, trouble, news or a meeting. People turn to it for a quick, clear-cut answer and look for details in other authors.

About this dream book
History of the dream book
Very little is known about the author of this dream book. Russian-language editions call her “Miss Hasse” and a medium, but the sources give neither a real name, nor dates of life, nor a first edition that could be cited. Most likely it is a brand name under which publishers gathered short omens from various old dream books.
The collection spread in the 1990s together with other popular dream books and has since been included in most online editions. On the site it is one of the largest: almost four thousand images. Some old entries have kept errors that appeared back when the books were digitised: letters mixed up, words run together.
What the interpretations are like
The interpretations are very brief — a few words or a list of variants separated by semicolons: “clean — profit; dirty — disorder”. There are almost no distinctions by the reader’s sex or age, and no psychological explanations either.
The dream book is good for a quick answer: if an image is rare, Hasse most likely has it. Some old entries contain text-recognition errors — in that case it is better to check other dream books.
